Weddings in HawaiiLocal
minister Rev. Mark's Oahu Wedding and Renewal services include traditional
elements with Hawaiian wedding prayers and blessings.
My marriage ceremony is low-key and informal, but with all the romance, dignity, and meaning of the traditional wedding service. It is my hope that, regardless of your religious background, if any, your wedding will be a very personal and profound sharing of your commitment and love to each other, the memories of which will bless you for years to come. At your request, I'll even sing the beautiful "Hawaiian Wedding Song".
Diane and I look forward to helping make your wedding day one filled with wonderful, once-in-a-lifetime memories.

We have been professional musician/ministers for many years
and as such we recognize the significance of meaningful,
well-presented music at weddings. Our rendition
of "The Hawaiian Wedding Song" can be heard by clicking
on the CD icon at the bottom of this page. Or you
may prefer the soft strains of a classical guitar or a harp
and flute. Or perhaps a contemporary-Hawaiian performer
who may sing your special song. Or a Hawaiian trio with
a beautiful hula dancer. Or maybe you would prefer to bring
a favorite CD which we can play during the ceremony. Talk
to us. If we can do it, we will do it and we will do it
right - at amazingly reasonable rates.
Add $50.00 for venues outside of Honolulu proper (Moli'i Gardens, Paradise Cove, etc.) |
"The Hawaiian Wedding Song" is, strangely enough, not its original title. It was composed by Charles E. King, Hawaii's celebrated composer of the first half of the 20th century, as "Ke Kali Nei Au" (Waiting for Thee) for his operetta, "The Prince of Hawaii" which premiered at the Hawaii Theater on May 4, 1925. It was first recorded on Columbia Records, by legendary Hawaiian musicians Helen Kapuailohia Desha Beamer and Sam Kapu in the same classic duet style sung by Mark and Diane today. Years later, both Andy Williams' and Elvis Presley's distinctive recordings of the song popularized it around the world for generations to come. Although the beautiful English lyric is not a translation of the original Hawaiian, it is recognized by millions.
Mark and Diane were both born and raised in Hawaii, he in Hilo on the Big Island, and she in Honolulu. They were married on Father's Day, 1967 and have two grown daughters. Between 1969 and 1989, Mark and Diane recorded and concertized in some of the greatest concert halls and churches in America as "The Hawaiians." Their music ministry included several international crusade telecasts with Dr. Billy Graham. They recorded 14 albums all of which are now out of print. Rev. Mark Yasuhara and Diane marry hundreds of couples on this beautiful island of Oahu every year.

This is one of the biggest days of your life. Go all out!
Forget the hassles of parking and long, sweaty walks in your
wedding finery. Leave the driving to a genial, seasoned professional
who will pick you up at your hotel, deliver you to your wedding
site and take you back to your hotel. We have the limo of
your dreams, luxurious and roomy, complete with complimentary
champagne upon request. The following rates are per hour
with a two hour minimum.
All
prices are per hour, 2 hour minimum.

All the information you need can be easily accessed
by clicking on http://www.hawaii.gov/doh. You may download your application paperwork directly
from this website. There is no blood test and processing is
immediate with your ID. Both bride and groom are required to
apply together at the Department of Health in Honolulu. The
fee is $60.00 cash. We suggest taking The Bus (Honolulu rapid
transit) or a taxi to and from the Department of Health as it
is located on one of the most congested blocks of the downtown/Civic
area. The no-left-turns and one-way streets can be very confusing.
Our Forever Aloha Premium Wedding Package provides for a limo to pick you up at your hotel, take you to the Department of Health and return you back to your hotel.

Hawaii is a favorite destination for couples celebrating wedding anniversaries. Many choose to reaffirm their marriage commitment with a renewal service that mirrors Mark's wedding ceremony with minor adjustments applicable to marriage renewals. A special, frame-ready, Marriage Renewal certificate is included. Any wedding package and/or option can be applied to these special celebrations.

| This is Hawaii. There is no dress code, especially for your own private wedding ceremony. Couples may exchange their marriage vows dressed casually or in the full wedding regalia of a formal tuxedo and a wedding gown complete with cathedral train. Its entirely up to you. Please ask us about the great rental rates we can get you on our formal tuxedos or one of our hundreds of wedding gowns. |

GUESTS
Many
of the weddings we celebrate consist of only the bride and groom.
However, the ceremonies often do include any number of guests
whose presence bless and enhance the celebration. We only
ask that guests be appropriately dressed and sober and that
children be accompanied by responsible adults. There is
no seating at any of the outdoor venues.
WEATHER
Hawaii
is world-famous for its beautiful climate where a wedding on
a picturesque beach is a natural. However, its lush landscapes
do require a certain amount of rainfall. Most days are
sunny and clear with Hawaiis amazing intermittent, rainbow-producing,
good-luck, cooling mist wafting down from the Koolau Mountain.
But there is the occasional tropical storm which can blow through
at almost any time of the year. Although we have never
had a wedding rained-out, that is not to say it cannot happen.
We do not provide a rain option". However, in the rare
event of inclement weather, you may choose to move your wedding
to the sanctuary of the First Christian Church of Honolulu at
a special rate available only through AlohaForever weddings.
Please note: Honolulu is located on the drier Leeward or south
side of the island of Oahu. The Windward or north side
where the Moli'i Gardens at Kualoa Ranch is located, receives
quite a bit more rainfall than the rest of the island. Most
days, Hawaii is blessed with the wonderful air-conditioning
of its tradewinds but sometimes a particularly windy day may
present a challenge to hair-dos and wedding veils. Depending
on the location, we do our best to hold the ceremony out of
the wind but being out-of-doors, its really Mother Natures
call.
RATUITIES
Here in Hawaii, "tipping" is an expression of Aloha
(appreciation, honor, love) rather than obligation. We and
all of our vendors (limo drivers, photo-videographers, musicians)
endeavor to offer the best services at the most reasonable
prices possible simply because that is what Aloha does. We
all have chosen relatively modest life-styles so that we can
continue to do this in spite of Hawaii's tight economy. Any
blessing you wish to extend to any of us is never expected
but always appreciated and gratefully received.
